I must admit through out my life I have felt some what ostracized and perhaps inadequate living in the shadow of my two biggest heros toothless jack and Big Kev but Friday evening for the first time in my life I felt I had achieved something, I felt for a faint few hours that maybe just maybe I had lived up to the great O' Connell name that I had for so long been weighed down by expectations of greatness.

 But today as I ate my creatine breakfast cereal with my two brothers I thought to myself what am I trying to achieve by playing football? Is it for the women that drape themselves over you when you tell them your Doheny every Saturday night, The glory of winning, to silence the many critics that there only two O'Connells worth their salt, or just to feel like I am good enough to be named O'Connell. Yes all of these factors contributed to why I play but not anymore.

I now realize I play for myself, Im playing to carve my name out in the Doheny team sheet not to live up to my brothers reputation but to create my own destiny and show everyone who I am and what Im capable of.

I will knock that sad excuse for a beard Dway Doyler of his perch at the top! 

I am and will remain Hungry Hugh, an O'Connell in my own right!!

Lads now can ye stop with the arguments clearly none of ye are representing the Dohenys at senior level. I am the only man excluding Paul Dean's fine brother Ricey. My Murphy flag will clearly continue to shine in the back line of Dohenys and maybe i even may show the simpsons flag as i do resemble the man moe sislack with our pertruding foreheads. MAGS ABU!!!!

Cant believe i made my champo debut my twin brothers are so proud of me, they even had a bowel of creatine ready for me when I got home! :) 

Honn the next round now hopefully i can knock Dway Doyler off his ivory tower in corner forward and reinstate the o connell name back into the full forward line where it belongs! ;)
