Playing Activities:

A spirited perfermance by the Doheny U21 Hurlers in the semi-final of the U21 B West Cork semi-final ensured that the Dunmanway side advance to the final where they are set to meet Clonakilty.  The Dohenys men ran out 2 point winners over Iban Gaels on a score-line of 2-09 to 0-13 in Enniskeane on Tuesday night last. Ray" Razor" Jenning's got the all important goals on either side of half time.  It was a closely contested match right through & credit to Iban Gaels they fought hard right to the end but came up against a brick wall in the Doheny's defence for the last 10 minutes as the failed to get the vital goal required by them to win the match.  The Doheny's men can be very proud of their performance & were full value for their win.

The Doheny Junior A Hurlers are in action this weekend against St. Oliver Plunketts in the 1/4 final of the Junior A Championship in Enniskeane this Saturday 16th at 7pm.  The Dohenys really have to up their performance level from the one in their win over Kilbrittain in the previous round.  Plunketts will provide a stiff test and the men in green will be put to the pin of their collar if they are to advance to the semi-final of the championship.  The Dohenys men are more than capable of winning this contest but they must recapture the intensity & drive they showed in 2013 which saw them lift the Flyer Nyhan. Since the Kilbrittain match the Doheny Hurlers had mixed fortunes in their matches in that they lost to Kilbree in the league on a score-line of 3-14 to 1-17 and they beat Kilmichael comfortably in a challenge on Sunday last.  Please support this Saturday evening.

Lotto:

There was no winner of the Doheny GAA Club’s Lotto Jackpot of €2,200 held on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 28, 33 & 40. Consolation prizes went to Maureen Collins, West Green, Donal Doyle, Coach Rd & Cathriona Maloney, Acres. The jackpot now stands at €2,400 and the next draw takes place in the Pavilion on the 18th of August 2014.
