Club Lotto
Our heartiest congratulations to Jeremy Maloney who scooped the Doheny GAA Club’s Lotto Jackpot last Sunday night worth €6,600. The numbers drawn were 07, 11 & 34. Consolation prizes went to Kitty/Kevin Hurley, Droumdrastil, Tom Dennehy c/o Castle Hotel and Kevin Murphy, Kenneigh. The jackpot now stands at €1,000 and the next draw takes place in Hitching Post Bar on Sunday next, 26th of May.
Playing Activities:
On Saturday evening last the Senior Footballers had an impressive win over Nemo Rangers (Intermediates) in the league in Sam Maguire Park winning on a score-line of 2-16 to 0-09. Short a number of regulars, team manager Jerry O’Mahony gave a number of young players their senior debuts. Johnny Kelly & Eoin Lavers, both lads impressing at Junior level although still 1st year minors, played. Johnny starting corner forward was a major thorn in the Nemo defence throughout, scoring a total of 1-04, 1-03 of which from play. Eoin came on midway through the second half and also acquitted himself very well. All in all it was good team display. The half time score-line read Dohenys 2-05 to Nemo Rangers 0-05. Fixtures: Junior A Hurlers are at home to Kilbrittain in the league on Sunday 26th at 12pm.
Golf Classic: The annual Doheny/Sam Maguire Golf Classic, is being held in Skibbereen on Saturday, June 8th. This is one of the Clubs major fundraisers of the year. Teams of 3 can entered for €120 or you might consider sponsoring a tee-box for €50. Your support is greatly appreciated.
