The U13 footballers were beaten by a stronger Thomas Russells side in their championship match In the first half, some great teamwork and intelligent passes led to 2 goals,scored by Nathan O'Donovan and Donncha Collins and 2 fine points from Fionn Herlihy. Both teams were level at half time,2-2 each. The second half did not go well for Sam Maguires but they did not give up until the final whistle and were very unlucky not to score on a few occasions.Sam Maguires goalkeeper John O Mahony made some outstanding saves on the night . The team can now look forward to playing in the county league competition.
