Point well made Trout(another name for our list) and bouquets well deserved for Daniel. By the way are you the guy that used to play at fullforward a few years ago when county U16 was won. Why aren't you still playing there as you showed great promise. |

Comments: | Nice to see Patrick Manning get in touch. Patrick was cornerback on the Sam Maguire team in 1978 that brought back the West Cork minor football title to Dunmanway for the first time in 34 years. The team had a bye in the first round, defeated Clonakilty easily in the semi-final, and faced Bantry in the final in Skibbereen.Maguires had the upper hand in the first half but leaked goals and trailed by 2-5 to 4 - 0 at the break, a score that Freddie has never been allowed to forget.Maguires, however were a point ahead at the end with Billy Lordan getting the equalising and Ray Kelleher the winning points. On the team wereFreddie Lavers, Patrick Manning, Finbarr Lynch, Jim Kearney, John Cagney, Tom Ross, Brian Herlihy,Billy Lordan, Tadhg Hurley, Donie Hurley,Ian Kingston,Ray Kelleher, Barry Herlihy, Pat O' Brien, Barry Woods. The team was beaten by Pobal Ui Caoimh , a Ballydesmond-Knocknagree combination, who went on to win the county. |

Abb, what in God's name were you doing on the web at 3.04a.m Saturday morning? Were you just in from the Arch? Aren't you back in strict training! Maybe you're still following Aussie time. Glad to see the website is generating discussion. You'd make a good detective but then again maybe I was standing alongside you that night in the Arch! |
