the players in the adult codes in this club think that they can just turn up at a game and expect to play well and win .. im afraid thats the rock they will perish on. it takes a lot of hard work and training to give a player the ability to compete at the level that the dohenys are playing at . if the players dont want to train then they should be left on the line . its how its done in other clubs, so why not here ! |

Disappointing result yesterday but at least a good fight back was conjured up in raw elements. Melancholic is a word that came to mind as I stood there watching the flailing of some of the players. Dohenys coming up short is a regular thing at this stage and not sure the cure - a bit like Liverpool - have the players however not the extra bit to go all the way. As we face into the winter months heres to a brighter 2012 for this club - who knows what tomorrow brings - hopefully not an Arsenal chapter....... |

Firstly the u21s must be commended on a massive effort yesterday. In what were brutal conditions for hurling ye showed tremendous resilience particularly after conceding 1:01 straight after half time. In the end ye were very unlucky to be on the losing side. However I did hear last week that only 5 turned up for training last sunday morning. Did these five start or even get a run?? this is not acceptable five days before a county semi final. It should be an honour to play in a county semi final with your club. This happy go lucky attitude needs to be addressed by the Club. At the end of the day ye only lost by a point. Had the work been done we still could have lost but at least we could have said we gave it our all....... |
