Comments: Well done to the Junior Hurlers in reaching four finals in a row, not many teams can boast of that and the commitment it takes. the best of luck in this years final, it is exactly fifty years since the last title. Here are the team of that year; In goal, Pat Cronin, R.I.P. Coach Rd. and later Bantry Rd, one of the great Doheny and Carbery goalkeepers
R.C.B. Pat OD onovan,R.I.P. Sennach, Pupil of Farrenferris and brother of Don , the photographer.
Full Back, Michael Farr, Capt. no explanation necessary. Former Chairman and now probably the longest serving member of the club. L.C.B. Eamonn O Mahony, now in Cork also member of 58 and 59 winning teams. Brother of Ted ,in Castle Hotel.
R.H.B. Mickey Mc Carthy, Coach Rd. Grand Uncle of John Forbes and a tasty hurler, now lives in Cork.
C.H.B.Noel O Sullivan, Main St.R.I.P. Another Farreenferris Pupil and brother of Dolores in The Greyhound Great Player.
L.H.B. Fonsie Lyons, Park Rd. You had a good days work done if you had got the better of Fonsie.
C.F. Peter Kennedy, Bantry Rd. R.I.P. Father was manager in A.I.B. Great player both football and hurling, his brother, Fr. Conor was also fine footballer with the club.
His partner at mid field was Johnny Carroll, better known for his football prowess but would work his socks off for the hurlers.
R.H.F. Pat Mc Carthy, Main St, Former Sec of the club 1964& 65 and scorer of two goals in West Cork Final. Still involved with the club. He will love this.
C.H.F. Con Coakley, Chapel St. Father of Mary in The Southern. One of the clubs finest ever hurlers and won several West Cork medals  with Coursies before Doheny club was reformed.
L.H.F. Richard Butler, Market Sq. His father owned the chemist shop on the Square. Another one of our finesr hurlers, small in stature but a real live wire. He won a county minor hurling medal with Newcestown 1959.Now lives in Galway
R.C.F Raymond Lyons, One of our great clubmen both on and off the field. Chairman and Secretary for many years. Was the youngest member of this team.
F.F. Mick Bambury A Kerryman, but one of the most dedicated players the club ever had. Played minor football for Kerry in 1955 and 56 andalso played fullback for Carbery and Cork Juniors. Lives in Cork
L.C.F. Tommy O Donovan Enniskeane, Brother of Charlie who owns Super Valu in Enniskeane. Tommy was a fine hurler, qualified as a Dentist and now lives in London.
Subs included;Pat Smith, Coach Rd, Cyril Mannix, Coach Rd. Fr. Mossie Kelleher, Chapel St. Kevin Collins, Behigullane. Donal Mc Carthy, Moreigh and Tony Crean  of A.I.B. and Kerry. Celebrated for a week and got hammered by Ballincollig in the county, but that wont happen ye lads. Come on The Dohenys.
