Could you please persuade Darren Sweetman to stick with hurling. He is surely one of the brightest stars at Cork's disposal. It would be a shame if we lost him to another sport. |

Comments: | Ye were a credit to the club and to yourselves in what was a
magnificent final. Hard luck can be overcome by even more hard work so to all
the players, particularly Fachtna and Clement give it another go as this is
only the first step on the stairway. To the mentors and all those who have
kept hurling going in the club yere contribution must never be forgotten. To
Mathúnas we say well done and now finish off the job by winning the county.

Tough luck today in the junior final. Two shots blocked on the goal line in the dying minutes prevented a great win. Wonderful performance with lots of class hurling from the team. Marvellous future if they can be held together and worked on. Mathúna's were much stronger physically so maybe a little beefing up during the winter would be good. Heads up, lads, it was the best final in years. |

Thanks a mill to Barry Herlihy and all those involved in arranging the hurling blitz today. One of my lads was playing for Sarsfields, so I wore my Doheny jersey and had a Sars flag !! The spread laid out for us afterwards was magnificent, thanks again for a great day :):) |

Best of luck, to a great team of hurlers, in the West Cork Final. Bring home the Flyer Nyhan. Great credit to all involved. Supplied a Cork minor this year. How about a Cork senior for next year??? |

dohenys won two junior b titles in 96 and 98 if memory serves me right. first against gaberials and the second against plunkets .and they played in a county final against buttevent in 96. so to say they were struggling to feild teams in the 90s doesint say much for the comment made by RECORD. if they were only struggling to field teams while winning west corks then thats some achievement! |

What years in the 1990's did Dohenys win the Junior (B) West Cork as was stated in this website. In that decate Dohenys were struggling to but out a Hurling Team so best of luck to Dave O Leary and Gabriel O Sullivan and the Team for what they have done for Hurling and the Doheny Club. |
