Comments:To Tim Joe: just wondering if you attended the recent AGM & expressed that opinion? Just curious because I wasnt there. If you didnt, I think that is the best place to be making comments like that and not on here. If you did attend fair enough

Looking at the situation from a Doheny supporter may I say the reason we (or maybe its YE) havnt progressed since the County (senior) final is attitude...especially amongst the so called older senior players.Maybe Im totally wrong but the impression I get is that "We 'll do it our way or not at all.And at the same time we'll drink the sh*t out of it win ,lose or draw."
"We dont want Mark or Jerry etc"
And they would have put everything on the line for the green jersey.

To Johnny Cash: it is worth noting that as we are a senior football club and junior hurling club, football is always going to get top priority even from the top down. In saying that there has to be changes to the emphasis on hurling (and this was duly noted by club members & players at a recent meeting) & I understand this is to happen. Also, maybe Jamaica is too far away for you to notice this, but every member of the football panel who plays hurling trained prior to football training last year so I think its a bit harsh to comment like you are. Its easy to hide behind a phantom name after all Cool

Comments: Johnny, name the players from that 96 team that are in a position to be playing hurling now with this club and those who are setting bad example.
Its obvious that there are people posting here claiming to be part of the club but are not just to have a dig at us

Comments: i think that noel collins is living in dreamland , there is no commitment in this club to the best game in the land . there are some fine hurlers in this club and they think that they can turn up when ever they like and dont bother training. thats some example to younger players that want to hurl, while there are footballers in the club who bust a gut to get a chance to play a league game not to mind a championship game!

Comments: Well done to one and all on last Sun A.G.M. It was without doubt one of the most positive A.G.M. I have attended in 50 years involvement. One small observation, the amount of people that left their names go forward as selectors was great to hear. Would it not be better for some to get involved as mentors with The Sam Maguire Club, who could really do with the help of some of the former players and mentors. I may be wrong here and maybe the lads intend getting involved without my encouragement

Comments: Just to respond to sideshow bobs comment regarding wasted talent from the 96 minor team. I dont think you can justify saying that the talent was wasted, out of that team i can think of 6 players that are currently playing with other clubs, 3 more that are living outside the area and 2 more that havent played for a few years because of longterm injuries and with it being 13 years ago your going to have players circumstances changing, so calling them wasted talent is sh*t talk.

Comments: Previous comment you must remember the 2003 minors beat barryroe in the west cork semi final and the bulk of that team went on to contest a junior a county final the following year. also we beat castlelions who where a senior club brfore winning the county. So i beleive there is alot of credit due for John Monher, who trained us  to the county. and Donie who was a selcotor on that team and the only person involed with that team scence u12 and i may be corrected but probely the most sucessful mentor in the sam maguire history. And as a member of that team i thank you donie for all the hours you put in with us from u10 trrough u21
