Comments: | Well done to the hurlers last night. A well deserved win, what a time it is for the Doheny's to have two teams in going into a county. If Ramie is going to sing when the footballers win, What will he do when the hurlers come home with a county aswell! |

don't mean to be critical of jimmy bob, he's entitled to his view, but, driving through town this evening, I thought the place is looking brilliant, there's green and white everywhere, from Bess's Cross to the Long Bridge. Tis great to see. One thing though, Abb, what hour of the morning was that to be up til? there's a County to be won, man! Pat, keep an eye on him, he's still not getting to bed before 5 in the morning! Come on the Dohenys!!! |

Comments: | Abb - you are a bit on the cranky side of things....have a hangover? It is a pity that we have to associate sports in D'way with drink. Are Mc Carthy's sponsoring this website as they get alot of publicity out of it? As for Terence - go on ya for the suggestion of Ramie dancing to YMCA - that would be some sight to see. |

just a few pointers to jimmy bob No 1 there is only one L in the word colourful No 2 if you aRE So passionate about this you would know that our battle cry is come on THE Dohenys not come Dohenys No 3 alot of work went into those pallets and at the time it was thought there was only a week left to county final day, twas the only shade of green available in town at the time, time was short so sorry if our colour coordination doesnt appease you jim bob but i think people get the idea and No 4 Pat Mcs grandfather was the first ever captain of The Dohenys(Pake Cruaigh) in 1886 and many a great Doheny victory has been celebrated in here including the rise of this team since the junior county in 93 to the intermediate in 95 to the win against the barrs in 97 even the bad games we lost doneraile 92, clon 96. The flag was always kept flying in here boy so dont you dare question the validity of celebrating being a Doheny in Pat Mcs and No5 as for the affore mentioned cranky face i accept full responsability for not coming home till after 5 for about 8 years + the added pressure of trying to bring back a long overdue county after 109 years. Hope to see you around town tomorrow hanging up proper looking pallets but i doubt it. Up The Dohenys |

Comments: | Ramie, On October 7th, you mentioned that if Dohenys won that you would sing on stage. I have every confidence that Dohenys will win so can you start rehearsing for YMCA and also the dance moves would be a nice addition. The spotlight will be on you should Dohenys be triumphant in the coming weeks. YahooooooooOOOOOO!!! |

I don't know what to say really. Two weeks to the biggest battle of our amateur lives . Either we heal as a team or we are going to crumble. Inch by inch play by play till we're finished. We are in hell right now, gentlemen believe me and we can stay here and get the sh*t kicked out of us or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell. One inch, at a time.
Now I can't do it for you. I'm too old. I look around and I see these young faces and I think I mean I made every wrong choice a middle age man could make. I uh.... I pissed away all my money believe it or not. I chased off anyone who has ever loved me. And lately, I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror.
You know when you get old in life things get taken from you. That's, that's part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out that life is just a game of inches. So is football. Because in either game life or football the margin for error is so small. I mean one half step too late or to early you don't quite make it. One half second too slow or too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They are in ever break of the game every minute, every second.
On this team, we fight for that inch On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We CLAW with our finger nails for that inch. Cause we know when we add up all those inches that's going to make the f**king difference between WINNING and LOSING between LIVING and DYING.
I'll tell you this in any fight it is the guy who is willing to die who is going to win that inch. And I know if I am going to have any life anymore it is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that inch because that is what LIVING is. The six inches in front of your face.
Now I can't make you do it. You gotta look at the guy next to you. Look into his eyes. Now I think you are going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. You are going to see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team because he knows when it comes down to it, you are gonna do the same thing for him.
That's a team, gentlemen and either we heal now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That's football guys. That's all it is. Now, whattaya gonna do?

Comments: | i live in the town and the green and white pallets are disgusting and not at all colourfull.Put up more buntings across the street and up and down the streets around the square espically and make it look really special NOW. Ye will get locked anyway.(I hope ye win) Maybe the older folk will be in Mc Carthy's Pub (Do U always have a cranky face on U Pat Mc) but the rest of the lads will try and be anywhere but there.Stop posting ad's to go into Pat Mc's. Figs,Satchie,Dan,Murray,Micky,Healy (Some man),Jer Mac are all stars and its a scandal that Jer Mac & Denis Healy espically don't get the recognition they richly deserve like to be even asked for a trial with some Cork team, surely they are better than what Cork Have. Come on Doheny's |

Comments: | Great website and keeps me informed while I am on my travels. Won’t be making it back in time for the game but will check out the website again to get the full match report. I didn’t see a whole lot of responses to Sean’s “dream team of ‘75 and 06” – there must be a couple of more players that could make the list??? All the Best with the game and knuckle down to the training. See you all at Christmas!!! Check out the website – bet that will bring back memories to a lot of the older folks. |
